Welcome to the StopWalmartNJ Coalition website. Our intent here is to provide insight to the behemoth from Bentonville, Arkansas. Wal-Mart today is ever-growing, beyond the imagination, while communities are growing barren due to this invasion. Many businesses are unable to compete due to the predatory pricing practices that Wal-Mart adheres to.
Fair market competition has been thrown out the window causing many towns to grow sparse with Wal-Mart being the only store left. These areas that once thrived on retail rateables now grow into budget deficits, burdening the pockets of each taxpayer and property owner. The once known mom & pop shops that offered personalized service are slowly being forced out of existence. Although, there are a few specialty stores that do thrive on Wal-Mart's existence it doesn't beat the once known merchant's pride in the community.
Employees of Wal-Mart are paid at poverty levels with minimal medical insurances that graze upon the taxpayers of the U.S. The Wal-Mart Corporation has skirted many questions as to moral values, quality of life issues, environmental concerns and discrimination.
So, exactly why is Wal-Mart good for this country, let alone your backyard?
